As i stated in a similar post at OffshoreForum, the best thing to do is toss your favorite team, hometown team, whatever, into the frickin toilet :bowl: . Rooting for a team is for girls: put on your green eagle skirt, and pompoms, and have Terrell Owens do a little dance with you.

Once you understand that all teams need to go 0-162 SU in baseball, 0-16 in football, 0-82 in NBA, then you can gamble .

It's just a tongue&cheek/sarcastic way of saying that you MUST bet AGAINST any and ALL teams to be effective in this foray of sports gambling.

...if you are in love with your favorite team(s), you start shying away from good betting opportunities, especially when your team is in contention, etc.

....and when you are considering betting on your team, more times than not you are going to MAGNIFY the reasoning to go with your team, even tho factors/fundamentals/situations warrant it not to be a solid bet. I really think (especially in baseball and hoops, where there are a lot more scheduled games) you will make a lot more bad bets than good bets if you have a favorite team, enjoy betting on your favorite team, and will not bet against your favorite team because you are too "loyal"

I love the under on this game. Both teams run the ball with ball controll and rely on defense to get turnovers... i predict the turnover will be few to none. 47.5 is way to high for this game... i dont care who wins cant stand either team... this year will be a yawner.... hope they have good commercials

We are talking about the same Pats team that was beaten by the Dolphins.... Anything can happen. The Eagles are not inferior... They are a solid team that plays a style that will give the Pats trouble. One thing the Patriots wont have is the cold weather advantage. They love to play in the cold and are unstoppable when it is under 30.... If anything, I think the under is the best play here.

Good luck, I just think there is too much invincibility with the Pats now. Philly may cover the 7 (I jumped on -4.5 NE right before the conference championships) , but if you are one of those "favorite team" bettors and you made ATS bets on Philly this year, you did well, but of course you cannot do that every year. :howdy:
